Soft Shoulder Sundown

Evening cools the summer heat from satin skin
Lighting the underside of clouds in pink and blue gray swathe
Leaving lingered kiss upon the hidden arch of frolic and press
Still draped in rose tone sighs, down slips sparkle, thrill complies
Small breaths raise and build to glow inhaled joy
Letting down the reddened globe, in incremental tease
Leaving damp the grass, in misty mourning of sight and sound
Elbow flexed to offer a mirror white, witness for a turning page
Feather bed for words left written in silent cleft, heart to heart
Though oiled hands massage time across tendon tight explanations
Waiting the pause of eager night to succumb, as whispered way
And all about the bare necessities of breathing; comes the calm
By now, in sweet departure of the tongue
My words write their own beginning, with strokes of affection
Where home remains; your picture held close to my soul

This is so incredibly sensual in its soft beauty here.
You never cease to amaze and entertain us with your talent.

This was my favorite line:
Small breaths raise and build to glow inhaled joy

But then, its a razor thin margin between all the lines for my favorite one.

TD, whenever I think that it would be virtually impossible for your writing to get any better ~ it does! You are an amazing poetess! ~ and this is another

It's curious, but with each new poem of yours, I say to myself, now this is my new favourite of hers!
