Winter's Breath

Beneath my feet moonbeams walk
Across the heaving ocean's seas
Magic snow drifts from the smiling waves
Spindrift climbs up the shining lee

Weather side, where no man walks
But where the singing dark tides talk
Intent upon its tremendous strength
Along the deck the sea does stalk

Just a loose wrong turned wedge
Where seas and wind lift the canvas warp
Sending hatch boards to the blackened sky
Dark shapes as though they fly

Albert Ross above the heaving seas
A laughing soul no storm can please
Waiting, wings that will enfold
Those that are lost among the winter storms.

Fine rhymes and beautiful flow to this immensely lovely poem Johan.  I think this is a particularly wonderful verse:

"Albert Ross above the heaving seas
A laughing soul no storm can please
Waiting, wings that will enfold
Those that are lost among the winter storms"

And Albert Ross is perhaps a vessel then ?

Beautiful imagery.  I'm not quite ready for winter yet though....

Winter is beauty, but beauty comes with a price, strength to endure it....

Enjoyed your poem!

this is so romantic in the old french sense (not in the romance sense), like lines of Chateaubriand...enjoyed very much the atmosphere and the strength of the words...
great work.
