my mind echoes with the tones of lost remembrance
and resonates all along the sharp notes of reality

my heart holds the secrets from the truth of yesterday
and searches uselessly in the hide-and-seek future

my strength swallows the pain of finding my own way
and flourishes on the journey from here to there

my hope waves intimately from the elusive tomorrow
and beckons me to chance the winds of change

my love trembles on the taut bow of endless possibility
and hovers in the honed moments of silent pause

You have quickly become one of my favorite
poets on the site, Shellie. This is excellent.

This is a great poem Berney, both in content and structure. My fav. line

"my strength swallows the pain of finding my own way
and flourishes on the journey from here to there"

Your poetic muscle is flourishing.

Cool stuff Shellie. And I always like how you present your poetry on here too.

Even in pause, you appear very in touch with the natural order from past to future to the being in the moment of now.
Nice reflections mixed with a warm setting

hi there,

I like the way the second line of each segment affirms who you are and how you choose to see things.  this is an easy thing to forget...and something some never learn.

nicely penned.

Shove, Love. Move over so I can join you in that "Pause". There is a whole lotta "mind", "heart", "strength", "hope" and love in there!

"my love trembles on the taut bow of endless possibility
and hovers in the honed moments of silent pause" ~ What a writer!!!

Giving you an extra, loving sol sistah hug,

Linda

"my mind echoes with the tones of lost remembrance" even your opening line is beautiful, Shellie.

As an addict in recovery this touched me deeply, especially these lines...

"my heart holds the secrets from the truth of yesterday
and searches uselessly in the hide-and-seek future

my strength swallows the pain of finding my own way
and flourishes on the journey from here to there"

....we (addicts) learn that no one knows what the future holds, that we can only take one day at a time and take solice in the fact that we grow stronger each day.

Do you mind if I print this out and post it on my office wall? ... it truly is an inspiring read for me.
