Rearranged

I wondered if he knew magic
for in the afternoon we lazily lay
grass backed to clear open sky
this calm beautiful ocean in the air
he pointed his finger toward heaven
and in a slow swirling motion
rearranged tiny bits of cotton
he showed me a potbellied teapot
complete with spout, handle and lid
dragon with smoke puffs, a palm tree
and I lingered tenderly in the laughter
it became a game of do you see it
moments of something out of nothing
erased forever from view by an instant
we held to earth in gravity bound while
the sky above changed its natural photos
and time ticked quickly away at the day

"I'm so hard to handle
I'm selfish and I'm sad."
— Joni Mitchell

Beautiful cloud paintings, and I absolutely adored your ending.

Very beautiful 1slick_lady. You know, I have seen some of those cloud paintings myself.

Around this time of year, I spend so much time in dread of clouds, I forget how beautiful they are... and how wonderful it is to just gaze and ponder... especially in the company of a magician. *S*

This is wonderful, my friend... I'm sorry I'm so late finding it! *S*

This is lovely and so worth bringing back.  So many good poems get lost too soon.  Love, Joyce

I missed this one, Helen, but finally caught it before it got away. Enjoyed.
