Heat

The suns rays,
penetrate the dry earth.
I walk these sands of time,
looking for the right somebody.

Heat crawls through my system,
taking over every inch of me.
The instinct is still there,
beneath my mortal skin.

Two times a month, heat strikes,
enveloping my body.

The poem is about heat... I like that way the words make a torch, if you get what I mean.

Lana, personally, I think that heat is from your birthday candles!  Blow them out!  BLOW them out!

Seriously,  I like the heat in this poem.  It's the kind that doesn't give me indegestion.

Happy Birthday.
