***This poem was written by LindsayP, who is having computer problems and leaving now and going into Respite for three weeks.***

                                                      .
A rather wimpish young fellow had a severe toothache

And went along to the dentist to have it pulled out,

The dentist was friendly and bade him to sit up in the chair

And said ‘I’ll soon be able to see what your trouble’s about.’

Peering into his mouth he told Jim he could see the offender

And so you won’t feel any pain I’ll give you an injection,

The young fellow was aghast and said ‘I’m terrified of needles

And to let you do that has my adamant rejection’

‘Well don’t worry then’ said the dentist with compassion

‘There is another way that I can relieve you of pain,

I’ll give you some gas and you won’t feel a thing

And next time you have toothache you’ll come back again.’

The young fellow gave a groan and turned white as a ghost

And said ‘I had gas once before and I don’t want it again,

Gas is one thing that I most definitely cannot take

Isn’t there something else that will free me of pain.’

The dentist thought a moment and said ‘I could give you Viagara’

Jim said, ‘but will that stop the pain, please tell me the truth,’

The dentist responded by saying that it won’t stop the pain

‘But at least it’ll give you something to hang onto while I pull

out your tooth’.

OMG! This cracked me up. I hate going to the dentist, myself. And, I don't like needles, either.

That is too funny.  Hurry back and solve those computer problems.  We miss you when you are gone.

Oh, and here I was finally thinking I would have the chance to comment on a poem by our eminent Mr. Balladeer, and it turns out it's by our most beloved Lindsay, which is not such a bad compensation either (haha).
Just joking ! Anyway, this is a great injection of humour to start the day with.  Great job Lindsay, and here's hoping you soon will be back to share your always great poems whatever the subject.

A member of my family just had a tooth pulled last week.  He's not a fan of poetry, but this would amuse him...the fee for 2 minutes work surely did not.

this is hilarious!

Sorry to hear our poet Lindsay is truly
'down under' this week.

BTW, I have a not-so-hilarious tooth extraction scheduled for Thursday!!!
Of course, I'll take the needle in the needle-in-the-mouth anti-pain choice.

While sitting in the dentist chair, I have often thought that it is poorly designed. I wanted something to hold onto. From now on, I will be thinking of your haha story and my denstist will be wondering why I am laughing!

Love you, my dear friend!
