Moon harvest moan,
slow song on the wind,
we'll borrow a lulllaby,
howlings rescind

spread fruited picnic,
bread tender, wine,
I'll steal your thoughts,
on poetry dine ~

await Starry Nights,
styled van Gogh,
the psalter of summer;
don't go,
          don't go.

I rather fancy short poems that say just enough. Equisite.

I think I've missed that!  Are you referring to music or poetry?  Thank you for the smile and light in your comment.  It makes me happy to know you aspire to the softer tones of summer and romance, too.

Ohh!   ....  I studied van Gogh some in an art history class some time ago.  This one is my favorite of his work, and I suspect is it is for many.

You set my eyes and ears upon a delight!  Thank you!

Oh, Definitely a gift of art and music, Linda. Thank you and Heart2Heart for sharing!  I had never heard it before found it beautiful...  Velvet.

Very beautiful! I love a starry night. Especially when I am able to share it with the right person.

Oklahoma Rose;  Thank you for the read!  I can't agree more.  It's extra special to have someone to delight in a starry night with, but I like the summer night skies even when there is not--for all the grandeur, mystique, romance, and unparallelled beauty a starry night bestows upon the spirit.  I think van Gogh caught an incredible essence in his painting.       ~kl

This is lovely in all it's splendor, you just string your words
along the edge of the horizon so very beautifully...

the perfect ending to a summer day.

Klassy,

I love the tempo and tone! It makes me want to gather a fruited picnic basket of my own, complete with wine and bread, and maybe a handsome ham.  I love your poetry!
