Enchantress in the cool dark air
Seductive moon I see you there
Empress of the black night sky
With diamond halo round your hair
You tempt this walker passing by

Emerging from your sylvan shield
You follow me across the field
And eagerly with charmed intent
Through the countryside revealed
Pursued me keenly as I went

That night my heart was filled with stars
They spilled from Midnight's jewel-filled jars
And with their diamonds on display
Softly whispering they are
More beautiful than break of day

Now as you retreat with night
You gild each leaf with morning light
And leave behind a silver berth
A magic carpet laced with white
And crystal gems upon dawn's earth

Dear Katriona, that is a beautiful poem,
well written in a slightly different style.

Please forgive me for writing this but you need to add the word, 'THE' as in  'When

you retreat with the night',then the rhythm is perfect. Love and a big warm hug.

The way you describe nature is so beautiful, Katriona. It always leaves me wanting more.

Spell-binding! Our recently departed, Marge Tindal, was ofter referred to as pip's Moon Goddess! She would have adored this post, Katriona!

Oh then I'm sure I would have loved her poetry as well dear Linda, so sorry about Marge, I read Oklahoma Rose's fine tribute to that lovely lady.
