WINTER COMES

I’m driving down the highway at a hundred miles an hour . . .
a dead end road,
no beginning – no end.
Hope started when I did,
back then,
with an increase in speed,
a scream stretching far back
in the vacuum behind,
to the beginning no longer there.
To you – or who you use to be –
Now, along a dead end road . . .
winter comes.

(~~~~this second part I didn't add at first~~~~)

I’m driving down the highway at a hundred miles an hour . .
a dead end road,
no beginning – no end.
Two hands,
on the roundness her stomach had become,
she looks questions at my eyes –
I shy away, don't answer.
Two feet on the floor,
two hands on the wheel,
cruise in maximum overdrive,
four wheels leaving dark clouds of hell
behind. . .
I look at her – questions . . .
she nods, blinks once, looks ahead –
I steer at a massive tree. . .
Beginnings and ends,
along a dead end road,
where winter comes, again.

Note:  Came across this song by Meghan (Coffee) Arias, "Window",  being played in the background of a photography video I was watching...finally found the song itself so I could hear the whole piece ...
and this write is what it gave me...

wanna hear it??? Can download the MP3 @ http://files.me.com/usedfilm/k0xm6b.mp3  --- kind of an ethereal piece...

Hi Jimmy,

It's good to see you again - you are driving so fast though that I can barely read your poetry.  Slow down, man!

I like this a lot - sometimes it all does seem like a deadend road to winter.

Thank you for sharing - I have missed you.  How is your grandson?

Thank you Alison...my friend, and my good buddy Michael....glad you like it.

Haun Yi...aw shucks...you certainly may, my friend...

There's a second part of this I didn't post...think I go on and attach it above anyway...  Of course no one will like it now I guess...but what the heck...don't expect people to like everything, if anything...so here goes...re-read the piece now.
