Yo dear Margherita,

I have never seen, nor heard of, a purple rose before, and I don't believe in them.

Of course flowers have never been one of my strong suits.

Love bobby

Dear Bobby, purple roses exist not out of natural evolution, but thanks to florist's experiments. I had a light purple rose on my balcony for years, I do love all the flowers, they are a breathtaking divine gift.
I hope that one day you will discover and appreciate their incredible beauty. One of creation's miracles, no less.
Thank you, for giving me the opportunity to sing my song of praise!

Thank you, dear David, for enjoying it.

Love,
Margherita

Oh yes!  I had a purple rose bush in my garden for a couple of years.  It was given to me by my son, Nicholas.  But they are very, very difficult to grow and keep alive and I lost it.  "Sniff, sniff"

Beautiful Haiky, Margi

A purple rose is indeed an emblem of grace, much like this lovely haiku.

I am a starker soul, and prefer blood red, or snow white.

But that's just me.

Dolphina, not only did I save this post to my Library, I saved the photo of that divine purple rose to my Flower Folder on my computer.

Thank you for this divinely-beautiful, meditative moment.

The rose scent actually is filling up my home office with its scent.

Thank you, dear Janet, dear Luke, dear Lori, dear Linda AT and dear Sue, for your most loving replies.

I was inspired instantly by inkedgoddess' poem "The rose's fold" when she speaks of the "triumph of the purple ones".

Love,
Margherita

I have one almost this color in my front yard.  It is exquisite, and my three year old granddaughter thought so, too.  She plucked the only blossom it had!     I enjoy the simply profound beauty of haiku and love roses of nearly any color.  My yellow roses smell best, though.

Now you've got me thinkin', a dangerous thing for me to do!   Is it by grace that we are loved and we love?  Petals, encompassing the very soul and seed...

Very pretty, Margherita!
