I really never wanted
to be a pretty girl
mingling in tidepools
of other pretty girls

I want to rise matchless
against the posing stars
scintillating in my flame
branding your secrets
with fingertip perfume

and you will smell me
in the center of a thousand pretty smiles
and cry for depths and thirsting
when I make my own wine
and frost your glass with breath
of lip petal glossing

should you ever dive
the wilds of these waters
and swim open mouthed
against froth of pinked waves

when there is no salt
on other lips like mine
and I am your woman there
in never forget oceans

what of pretty girls

I will breathe
and you will know it
by name

H

Fantastic, dear Heather! I tell you you have all the numbers to be matchless like this!

This is what confidence and deep knowing are all about.

Your poetic skills are also outstanding, dear girl.

Love,
Margherita

A woman who knows herself and is comfortable in her own skin is prettier than pink! Mind you, you happen to be pretty on the outside ~ as well as on the inside! ~  So that's a double bonus!

Heather, you are a very skilled poetess ~ and I love how the real you comes shining through your poetry. I like you!

Love 'n a big warm hug,

Linda

To really know oneself is the key to great confidence, and self-esteem. You are indeed a beautiful girl.

Confidence is the most beautiful thing in the world, and nothing can quite match it.

Enjoyed your work.

This is so passionate, the deep blue sea never read so well.

Your poem is refreshing and comes in quiet waves.

Wonderful reading, H~

You stand way above the other pretty girls.  They aren't poets like you.  I love how you stand tall in this poem

Beautiful and powerful. All the good 'ful's Heather. Amazed at the depth, but not shocked anymore.

Well, sounds of Heaven on Earth,

yes, I most surely hear music,

in the heart of poetic words,

rich and pretty melody,

I've been absent a while, and this is the first poem that I have read by you.

I am stunned by the delicacy of your articulate form.

My critique tends to fall short because I only know by instinct and not by instruction what works. So... amazing.
