My photo - Lake of Bracciano
Between sunset and moonrise

*   *   *

At twilight hour I immerse
in the crystal waters of my lake.
Thousands and thousands
of sparks ride the waves.
Except a few dragonflies flitting around
and some seagulls circling the skies,
I am in perfect solitude.

In between the setting sun
close to the blue hills
defining the horizon,
and the rising moon in the east
above tall pine trees,
I quietly swim through an endless field
of incomparable, dancing diamonds.

I am the audience
of the fading day
and of the imminent night.

With half closed eyes I see tiny strings
connecting every single spark
to the indigo sky lingering solemnly above.
I wonder.
Could this stream of light
be the landing runway created by the sun
for souls on a nostalgic tour to planet Earth
which they once called home?

I hold my breath and listen.
Ecstatic whispers burst from bubbles.
I follow an inner urge and softly hum along.
Mystical sounds rise from this stage.
In deep rapture my heart pounds.

While returning reluctantly to the shore
I sense the pull of a thousand loving eyes
I turn around to look back once more
as the sparks slowly ascend into the skies.

I am the audience
of the fading day
and of the imminent night.

Dolphina, I was immersed in your visions of the fading day and the advent of imminent night... I'm in awe of Nature's beauty and your ability to do it justice through your God-given talent.

You continue to amaze me with your remarkable abilities and spirit.

Outstanding, dearest.

It's always a pleasure to be in the audience when your pen shivers and you light up the page.

Thank you from my heart, dear friends, for leaving such loving comments here.

I had spent a lot of time looking for an adequate picture, but nothing satisfies me fully. Reality was just so perfect and I should have taken a few pictures myself, but they are imprinted in my mind ... on one side the sparkling water and the sun, on the other the shore with its pine trees and the rising moon. Breathtaking nature!

Thank you for your appreciation.

Love and hugs.
Margherita

PS Wow, I almost can't believe it that I succeeded in downloading one of my own pictures.   That's the place and shows the sparks just the way they were dancing on the surface! This pic was taken previously, but just more or less at the same hour.

Just beautiful, my friend. just beautiful!  Sometimes it does feel as if a thousand eyes are watching and maybe they are!!!!I watched the light show this month from my deck when the shooting stars were in full regalia.  Wasn't it gorgeous???

Loved the poem!
