In the space between moments

0 posted 2009-07-31 11:51 PM

I have become a symphony of need--
every sinew pulled taught,
tight,
waiting for the low, long notes
to fill the hollowed spaces,
to seep into the numbed caverns
shadowed deep inside me.

I feel the moment slide against me
like a bow across a string
and I swell in unison with the sound
becoming bigger than myself
and lost
in the whole notes and the longings.

And soon my nerve endings shimmer
as the symphony blossoms—
each note a tear-shaped petal
dropping down around me
and dropping down within me.

The pain is almost too much to bear.

But soon the melody acquiesces to my pleas
for mercy
and slows, softens, hushes
leaving me only with tender spots
that ache quietly.

Eventually respite returns
silent, shivery, cool
sending waves of sweet nothing
to lap in every corner.

But I lie, trembling, in wait
for the surge of my symphony
to swell again.

WOW! ~library keeper~ This carries me on waves of full-body rhythm and magic notes, hitting all the highs and lows.  Gorgeous music!
Take a bow, maestro.

Alwye! It's been awhile! Too long awhile! ~ then you return and gift your readers with a symphonic rhapsody!

May your crescendos come often!

I'm back! I'd forget my 'halo' if it wasn't attached!

...NOW it's saved!

Exquisite identification with the passionate evolution of a symphony.

Wonderfully done!

I am happy that you returned to these pages of blue!

Love,

Thank you for the kind words, everyone.  I wish I had more time to write...Sometimes the mood just possesses me, however, and the words insist on coming out.
