Night Heart

Darkness falls, the night is still.
Slight breeze upon my shoulder,
belies the flickering lamps.

Light reflecting bobbles to delight
my inner child, still.

Writing only by the candle light,
letting my thoughts roam.
Yawning night fills the sky with
stars.

Now and then you see the streak
of a star sailing through the black.
Its fiery tail waving goodbye to
eon comrades.

Still is the night and there is peace
in the heart with a gentle breeze.

Loved it!  We think alike, my new friend.  I love to spend most of my evenings out on my deck, and usually, that is the time I do most of my writing, or at least get my ideas for my writing.  Don't forget the end of Auguest, we have that spectacular Mars/Earth convergence thing goin' on.  I am already dusting off my binoculars!  (lol

Peace can be sought ~ and found ~ by gazing up into a starlit canopy at night.

"Still is the night and there is peace
in the heart with a gentle breeze."

~ Sighingly peaceful and serene.

Big hug from a fellow star-gazer,

EA

"Yawning night fills the sky with
stars."~ Lovely line!

You've captured the magic that comes from writing and thinking and imagining at night.  I enjoyed the read!
