Together Forever
by Linda L. Dowd

As rains were misting soft lichens and grass,
~ On the hillsides of the Emerald Isle,
The blood was stirred in a lad and his lass,
in soft gloaming of the springtime’s beguile.
Together they strolled ev’ry path and pass,
and forever they’d walk every mile.
With hopeful hearts holding wishes and dreams,
~ They would traverse all life's rivers and streams.

~ * ~

There be no force on Earth that exceeds
that of the power of love.~ Linda L. Dowd

Linda,
I'm a sucker for romance. Lovely picture to kick start the mind down the path of your thoughts. Thank you.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Wonderful in its rhyming scheme. It flows so smoothly down the page, as if you just plucked your words like flowers from a meadow, combining colors with colors.

Angelo Terrestre you weave love stories so tenderly!

Love and hugs.

This is lovely, Linda.

Besides a love of words, you have a penchant for all things hibernian, eh?

From the flowing Uni-Verse flow currents of your verse they ride the Emerald Isle, where they:

""traverse all life's rivers and streams.""

of this excellent piece of HeArt.

Oh, yes! I've been keeping Balladeer hopping at the Poetry Workshop! I'm learning a great deal about poetic forms, terms, meters etc. and am enjoying stretching my poetic wings and trying new things!

K, would you like some crumpets topped with some of my homemade blueberry jam, to have at our tea party? ~ Oh, and could you please bring some of your homemade sourdough bread that you make by hand and top it with some of your bacon and tomato jam?

(eyes bulge in surprise) An Ottava Whaaaaaaaaaa? (giggles) I've never even heard of this poem structure before until now, LOL!

(smiles) This is such a delightful, graceful romantic write, my friend! Given much of my blood is green (ancestrally speaking) it does make my heart swoon reading it, as there is nothing more romantic than having someone walking beside you and staring off onto the horizon line of destiny, and few places would rival a verdant, emerald-laden island! (sigh) This is a true gem, my friend, yay! (does happy togetherness tango)

XOXO,

Ah, yes, part of me blood be green, as well. ~ Along with some Scottish and Swiss.

I love to both read and write romantic poetry.
Often my Celtic ancestry comes shining through! lol

I'm pleased you enjoyed this, my green friend! lol
