The Moth

Gentle in my hand, wings vibrate
Sprinkling my hand with golden dust
Vibrant colour, winking eyes
No butterfly, just a common moth
Antennae, as though eyeball stalks
Feet tickle my palm, so soft
Drawn towards the sun's bright beams
Amid the yellow stems of flowers
Leaving my hand a shadow of dusty dreams.

Very beautiful, dear Johan. Thank you for letting the moth live, hopefully she made it to the next night, even though she left some wing-dust on your hand.

Such tender awareness of the wondrous beauty of even the seemingly modest creatures.

Enjoyed this much.

Love,
Margherita

Very nicely written for sure Andrew, God's creatures be they small or big are just as wonderfully created.

(Hmmmm - just found little telltale holes in my best cashmere dress, I wonder who's been making a meal out of my most beautiful garment ?  At least they have good taste,  hehe !)

You were left a little "fairy dust" and a lovely poem, Johan.

Awesome Poem!!! You captured the grace of the moth that is often overlooked great writing.

Great poem!  I like how you've taken a snapshot of the moth, yet given us a 4-D movie.

Your poem brings me the magic of moth dust.  Thank you.
