               The Wind

The seasons come and the seasons go,
It’s something we can’t rescind,
And each one changes, as we know
But with all we share the wind.

Some parts in winter greet the snow,
It’s the coldest season known,
Whichever way the wind might blow,
It can chill you to the bone.

When the chill of winters gone,
Then spring will have her say,
For as the days press steadily on,
We wish spring was here to stay.

When on a perfect day in spring,
The strength of wind will ease,
Flowers bloom and birds will sing,
As perfume floats on a gentle breeze

Days stretch out as summer comes,
Then hot winds will show their wrath,
The leaves start to wilt on all the gums
As the wind comes howling from the north.
`
At last the heat of summer flees
And autumn colors start to show,
The light wind now that stirs the trees
Bring leaves floating down like snow.

The prevailing wind has many moods,
I’m sure of that there is no doubt,
Some times it smiles, some times it broods
But its something we can’t do without.

Lindsay

I love windy days at any time of year as long as the wind doesn't get carried away
and do damage.

Dear Lindsay, what a great tribute to the wind and the breeze ... yes it has such a significant role.

Yesterday, while sitting in the sun, I could not have resisted if a slight breeze had not come to cool me off a little ... I was so grateful!

Enjoyed the whole write very much! Beautiful seasonal reflections.

Love,
Margherita

A most catching poem about the wind, haven't thought of it before that we do have it through every season   Very crafty observation Lindsay.  Of course it's handy too, especially in places where we have all those windmills creating (green) electric power.

Wind is ever-present.

Never thought of it like that.

Cool poem.

I love the sound of the wind blowing. I also love the feel of it! ~ Even gale-force winds. In fact, one very windy day, I opened the window in our bathroom just a crack so that the wind came whistling and I recorded it to play at night when I went to bed. The quality wasn't the best so I'm looking to buy a high quality track.

Please forgive the following, but I can't help myself. My grandmother in her advanced years had little bouts of gas and whenever she tooted she would say, "Wherever you are, let your wind blow free ~ for the pinch of a faart was the death of me!" God bless her! I guess she must have pinched her last one!

Love you, Aussie Man!

Lindsay,

I think the wind was touching me as I read.  I love this poem that moves from season to season.  I especially liked the leaves falling like snow.  Beautiful analogy.

Alison

Ah Lindsay,
I read much into this poem of yours. To me it speaks of the yin-yang of life, The balance that is there. Good winds and bad they are all part of the process of our lives. Change like the seasons will happen, indeed it must.
  thanks for the thoughts
