I Live There

Before dying,
I sit here quietly before this gentle river.
I’m here to reach out to you.

Come with your love,
and sit on your knees
with me before the healing water.
close your eyes, and listen
as I quietly read my words
for they are my essence and
I will always live there.

Before leaving,
If you would reach out
and take this small book that
that I freely offer.
It is all I have for you daughter
but breathing inside its well worn pages
is my very soul.

If you need me,
come with your love,
sit before the healing water
of this gentle river
and read my words.

I will always live there.

Yoin

There will come a time when our children will appreciate to find our essence within the poems we shall leave behind.
This is a gentle, sensitive, loving invitation, dear Tim, and I loved the meditative imagery of the riverside.
Beautiful.

Love,

thank you Margherita

Yes there is really so much of me in my collection of writing, both the good and the ugly, but that is the way of things, the yin and yang of being a soul striving to learn his way in this world. I try and celebrate the good but don't hide the bad that i have done, Lessons are learned from both and if i think if  there is a reason I have to write the way that i do, that is it.

Yoinn,

I am a keeper of memories.  It would be wonderful to have the words of my father to cherish in a book.  I have three of his words in my head that healed me -  I am sorry.  I hold them with me always.

Thank you for this one.  It is beautiful.

Alison, thanks for sharing your thoughts about your father. Fathers are often misunderstood by their children when they are young sometimes it takes the wisdom of age before we see the love they have always had for us.
