Come Drink of This Sweet Blood of Nature's Veins

Come drink of this sweet blood of nature's veins
Sup this clear cooling draft up from the well
Lift your head up high to the falling rains

Let it soak your face, and your tears are grains
Of cold stone from whence, or you cast your spell
Come drink of this sweet blood of nature's veins

Come all ye to where nature leaves its stain
It's thy wish that life begins, people dwell
Lift your head up high to the falling rain

Where the sweet waters from the rain remains
That forms this wishing well, others may tell
Come drink of this sweet blood of nature's veins

Come to this special place amid lifes shames
Spend time amid the trees, there is no hell
Lift your head up high to the falling rains

Be at peace amid life's haste and refrains
Lifes cool flowing water without a shell
Come drink of this sweet blood of nature's veins
L;ift your head up high to the falling rains.

You know this speaks of the way I deal with every single day of my life.  I go into the forest for "me time" and just drink in all it has to offer.

Beautiful Villanelle.

I enjoy the French Villanelle poetic form which I affectionately refer to as 'French Vanilla'.

I find them rather difficult to write but you have done a masterful job of writing this one.

"Be at peace amid life's haste and refrains"
