Kicking Stones

I reach out my hands
but it’s really my heart that yearns.
So long I have waited
for the pieces of loves puzzle
to fit this broken man’s life.

I stretch out tired legs and feet,
so many miles walked alone
with no smile to return mine,
no eyes to reflect me.

I stumble though this cloudy, lonely life
kicking at stones in my path,
not caring anymore if
my shoes are tied,
my hair is combed.

Again, I reach out my hands
looking for a buoy, a raft
in the form of a angel,
to somehow keep me afloat.

When loneliness turns to apathy
can the end be far.
How long can a shell walk
with no love in it’s heart.

This is so sad, Yoinn, but very well done as usual. I am quickly becoming a fan of your poetry.

thanks DS.

Yeah it is strange, and its always been that way for me. When things are going good I hardly ever write or if i do...it doesn't have any meat to it at all. lol but let a little depression settle in...then bang. Im wearing the paint off the keys.

Bitter reflections, most intensely rendered, dear Tim.

Remember ... when you least expect it ... the Angel you are waiting for ... will manifest.

Well we are on the same wave -length this week, my new friend.  My own "Lamentations of an Aging Bride" reflects what you are writing about.  Although I am happy in my life, there is always that nagging question.

I can see that you have much love in your heart.  Not to worry, what goes around comes around....law of the universe!

thanks for your reply Lindsay and your concern my friend.

Im doing ok now. I have learned to be a pretty strong fella over the years. but I have saved up this huge puddle of pain down there in my gut and I do dip the poetry pin in it every once in awhile and see what comes out on the paper.
