there are doors and doors, doors on the left side
to discover a little house with blue bedrooms, doors
on the right side to enter a summer garden full
of sentiments, doors in the heart to meet
the perfect girl, doors looking onto dreams to sell
intimate nights to shrinks or escaping thieves of desire,
there are doors and doors everywhere around us
to get in and get out of ivory thoughts, doors
to marry sisters and share prosperity with kids,
doors for sunday’s meals or looking elephants
into past, there are doors and doors to protect
and share suns of smiles behind sunny courtyards,
doors to forget, doors of snow widely opened,
doors of clouds to raise princesses’ dresses, there
are doors in my back, deaf doors divorcing from
present, and finally all these doors are choices
and you never get the same chance in following times
to open or to close them.

It's true, some doors cannot be opened again once you've closed them, which is why we sometimes need to leave them a little ajar, just in case ...  A very insightful and well penned poem.

yann,

This hands down is one of my favorite PiP poems.  It's in my library and I saved it in my computer.  Wonderful writing.  Cool thoughts that you expressed so very well.

Thank you, my friend.

Thank you, Yann.  This is inspiring, heart-warming, wise, philosophical and creative, and I am being greedy and running around opening all the doors (except the ones to forget, but even those are hard to close – and I think we need to accept, forgive (even oneself sometimes) and learn from what is behind those doors before we close them and forget).  Of all of the poem, I think my very favourite part is something I feel particularly strongly about, especially the first line I quote below, and that is that “all these doors are choices/ and you never get the same chance in following times/to open or close them.”

And whether you intended it or not, I like the ambiguity of the title - it could mean that there are many, many doors - or it could mean that, on one hand (metaphorically) there are some kinds of doors, and on the other hand there are other kinds of doors.

Thank you Shellie for passing and leaving a message, reading loud makes me think that I should work it again but english in not my language so it would be rather difficult to seek for music with my limited vocabulary...

thanks a lot for your kind comment.
