Blackrock Cottage, Glencoe, Scotland

I do not need a lamp or light
To see the scenes within my mind
I picture them by day or night

Far from this cottage wee and white
I can recall if so inclined
I do not need a lamp or light

My grandma's figure slim and slight
My grandpa's face so stern yet kind
I picture them by day or night

Our old sheepdog in soft twilight
The bobbing lambs she runs to find
I do not need a lamp or light

The heather blooms in colours bright
The rowan trees along the wynd
I picture them by day or night

Those memories of which I write
I still would see if I were blind
I do not need a lamp or light
I picture them by day or night

A very captivating form as it stresses the key-words.

The picture is so beautiful, that I lingered there as if in meditation and then your words became the perfect accompaniment for a delightful experience, on visual and emotional level.

I love of course also the perfection of the presentation, as an overall impression.

Sending you a hug for this, dear Katriona.

Love,
Margherita

Stunning.  You made my heart hurt a bit - good poetry about home does that to me.

Yann thank you, yes Glencoe is a particularly beautiful place in the Highlands.  Many battles have been fought here between the English and Scottish, I'm sure many ghosts haunt the area.

I love Villanelles and your picture is a beauty. Sometimes I wish I lived  on the other side of the ocean where it is much closer to other countries to visit. There is so much beauty in the world.

Villanelles are one of my favorite forms of poetry. This is absolutely beautiful. This is a form, I want to learn to write well.
