Lit

Looking through the flame
Candle magic, danced its flickering light
Catching my attention with the scent of woodland musk
Lifting my eyes, the wandering sighs of my mind left my lips
As blue as yours, details that never fade, fan the flames
An easy style of strength and unconditional charm
Strung like paper dolls across the walls
The very air I breathe, seems to conceive of promise
If I read your mind, would I not akin to Nostradamus?
Predictions are the rosy cheeks of fate, a blush wine red
I sip the fragrance and the dream, pulling tight the ribbons
Curling in curtsy across the walls
Thinking all the while, “I’m lit”

A combination of romance and spooky thrills in this enigmatic write.  Can just see the scene before my eyes.  A wonderful picture poem.

  Lit... LOL

So many connotations to that word come up...but even second sight has been referred to as "shining".  The things we perceive from within, and manifest without...  but love is the charmed one, and I felt the magic.

You are lit. You have captured the light and put it in words.

Full of wonder.

You just keep pulling these beauties out of the sky, Kathleen. You eyes are 'lit' with magical skylights.

Lovely writing.  I used to have a reoccurring nightmare about paperdolls strung together.  I don't want to go there - so I'll focus on the beauty of your words.
