Old Bones sat reading
the newspaper this morning.

He noticed in the obituaries--
which he always reads
just in case he’s there.

His hero Frank McCourt
has passed away
at only seventy-eight
years of age.

Bones always really liked
Frank’s books.

Bobby

Oh, dear Bobby, I love this tribute to Mr. Frank McCourt.
The sad news was on the cover page of our daily newspaper here and in the inside there is a full page to read.
I did not know him like you, I mean I haven't read any of his books. I read he won the "Pulitzer".
I also read just one thing he said: "I have learned more from the children by listening to them, than I could ever teach them".
How wise!

Love,
Margherita

~ Forgive me, but I couldn't help but chuckle at Bone's wry sense of humour.

Frank died in the prime of his life ~ at 78 years of age! God bless him.

Thanks dear Linda,

Well, you know how it is.  When you're seventy-two, going on one hundread and fifty, then seventy-eight seems like just a pup.

I think we need to see more of Bone's sense of humor. I read Angela's Ashes and I'm still not sure if I liked it but I will certainly never forget it.

Thanks Bill,

I'm glad you agree with Bones.  Mr. McCourt was one of "da boys", wasn't he.

Dear, sweet Bobby,

I've read Angela's Ashes as well. Mr. McCourt was, indeed, an excellent author. And it is a shame the world has lost his genius.

Thanks dear Arana,

I agree with you.  Frank McCourt did wonders with the language.

Bones' hero can still be his hero.

Death doesn't have to change that.
