           Worse Than it Seems

In a hospital hallway on stretchers they lay,
These two little four year old boys,
At the long wait outside the operating room,
Their confidence it slowly destroys.

One little boy Jimmy said to young Bill,
‘Why have you got to go in here for an op’,
He answered by saying he nearly cut off his thumb,
When he played with a knife in Dad’s butcher shop.’

He added by saying, ‘It’ll take fully three months
Before I will be able to once again use my hand,’
Little Jimmy said, ‘that is something I once done myself,
Yes, it really is something I can quite understand.’

Billy then said, ‘What are you in here for,’
Jim answered, ‘Circumcision,' in an awed tone of fear,
Billy said, ‘I had that done the day I was born
And I couldn’t walk for a year.’

Hello, Lindsay! I didn't expect that ending ~ but I knew that a good one was coming! ~ and it did! lol Outta the mouths of babes!

That reminded me of the day I brought my newborn daughter home from the hospital. There was a knock at the door, and there stood a Rabbi with a black bag. He came to perform a circumcision on my baby. I told him that I had a baby girl and that there was nothing to circumcise! ~ and besides, we were Catholics. He insisted that he had the right house and I insisted that he didn't! I actually went and picked up my baby girl all dressed in pink!!! It turned out that a baby Jewish boy was born in our neighborhood on the very same day and our address was the one that he had been given.

Sorry for the long1winded reply, but your humourous post brought those memories back!

Love you, Aussie Man! Thanks for the chuckle,
Linda

My friend,
I always wondered why it took boys longer to walk than girls.  I think it's a balance thingy.

Cute write, as always,
Tracey.

Dear Maureen I'm glad to see you are smiling, keep it up, it's good for your wellbeing, thank you, love and a big hug.

Well Tracey, now you know, but whether that makes any difference, I'm not to sure. I think girls are just smarter than boys when they are little. We have twins, a boy and a girl. Dianne used to tie up Peter's shoe laces when she was three, as he just could not do it. They were in their mid teens before he caught up. Take care.

Thanks Maranda, No, the grass is certainly not always greener on the other side of the

fence but a lot of people wake up to late.
Take care dear Lady
