Well
George Armstrong
You’ve certainly
Done it this time
Haven’t you

Yet given the fact
Of not learning a thing
In this life you thought
Worth remembering
Why would any
Including the Indians
Think in another
You’d listen any better
To what you hear

Which would then explain
Once the battle was done
With your body already moldering
The women so opened your ears

I feel rather stupid but I'm afraid I don't completely understand this one, though I assume it is about Custer. I read everything you write and it usually clicks for me but I just don't get this one.

Ida,

Custer is right
The indian women punctured his eardrums
so he might listen better to warnings
in the next life.

Thanks for reading

Interesting, I didn't know that. It's amazing how much I learn on this site.
Thank you for sending the Poems by Others.
That is quite a  collection. I have started reading and it will take a while but I am enjoying it and adding to my collection.

OK, I absolutely love the way you know yourself and can then turn around and put it so well into a poem.  AND, that you can do this without out that "pity me" poetry we all seem to fall into at one time or another.

You have a no nonsense style that I really enjoy

Jan
