Chagall Amoureux au Bouquet

*    *    *

La danse des âmes

*    *    *

Ce n’était qu’un vieux bus
qui roulait avec fracas
le long d’une route de printemps.
Les secouements dérangeaient
le sommeil des passagers.

Néanmoins,il y avait là deux âmes,
conscientes que l’une de l’autre,
qui dansaient joyeusement,
sans bouger les pieds,
les yeux dans les yeux.

Elles s’élevaient
au-dessus de l’espace étroit
pour un vol spatial
dont elles seules dessinaient
le plan de navigation.

Et le printemps radieux,
avec sa bouche toute rouge
de coquelicots,
souriait à travers les fenêtres.

*    *    *

Soul dance

It was just an old bus
rattling boisterously along
a Spring framed route.
Passengers scolded the bumps
for disrupting their sleep.

Nonetheless,
there were two souls aboard,
aware only of each other,
who danced happily
without moving their feet,
eyes in eyes.

They rose beyond
the narrow compartment
and set off for a space flight
where they designed
their own route of navigation,
by the mere use
of impulses of their hearts.

The radiant Spring,
with its mouth full
of passionate red poppies,
smiled dreamily
through the windows.

The 'Soul Dance' was sublime in both English and in French, however, as you well know, the latter IS one of the Romance languages.

Thank you, dear Angelo Terrestre, for your sweet comment. I am happy that you could appreciate it also in French. I wrote it first in French, because those who inspired this poem were speaking French. J'aime bien cette langue moi aussi! Et puis je dois m'exercer, parce que mes petits fils parlent français!

Thank you, dear D. Lester Young, for your very kind comment. I spent some time on finding the fitting picture and I thought this Chagall masterpiece was  a very "elegant" touch of art.

Dear Ida, "elegant" is a very nice definition. Thank you so much.

I am happy to find you here with your very gratifying comment, dear Kathleen. Thank you so much.

Dear James, would imagine that you know of such moments, your romantic heart perceives such things quickly. Thank you so much.

Nice that it brought back sweet memories to you, dear Bill! Busses are not always boring! Thank you, dear.

Cher Yann, ton commentaire m'a apporté un grand sourire ce matin. Merci de tout mon coeur. Je suis heureuse que l'original en français ait eu ton approbation! So happy you enjoyed it.

Love and joy.

Thank you so much, dear Shellie, I enjoyed your generous comment.

Dear Heather, what a nice thing to say! That would be a dinner providing mutual ... nourishment in every way. I am honored, thank you.

Sweet Queen of the Fairies, oui la Belgique. Je vais les visiter en août.

Dear Bruce, what a lovely surprise and honor to have your applause! Thank you!

Nice to have you visit, dear Rick. Thank you for your loving reply.

Dear Miscé, thank you so much, yes I love Chagall for his floating lovers too!  Enjoyed your words.

Dear Lori, your compliment brings a grateful smile. Always a joy to meet you here.

A "compelling" from you, dear Bobby, is quite extraordinary! Thank you so much.

Dear Alison, I am happy that you too could enjoy it in French. Thank you for the most generous reply.

Dear Katriona, thank you dear Poetess, for the loving comment. I must exercise French for my grandsons. I am writing some children rhymes for them, in Italian and in French. It's such a pleasure.

Thank you all again!

Love and hugs.

Margh...I just love the way that you write!
This was a dance that I tripped along with you, the journey, the existential experience of the two.  Great poem!

Dear Margherita,

You posted this poem when I wasn't a member yet. Almost missed it, but I 'accidentally' stumbled upon it while surfing on pip.

This one is so gentle and so touching.
I HAD to post a reply, even after all these months.

BEAUTIFUL!
