Here I live the life I have
The one I’ve made by choice through years
Have seen both good days and the bad
I’ve felt life’s warmth and shed its tears

There’s been the chance to change what is
Been told some truths but thought I knew
Held so many thoughts within
To find there’s still so much to do

We seem to dream of other ways
The what ifs, if we took the chance
The truth of love, adventures way
The spark again of true romance

No matter how we dream and want
With fate our footsteps do not change
We think we turn a different way
But time and fate did prearrange

Some days an actor on the screen
Some days I’d like to be a King
But mostly, just to be myself
For really that means everything

So life that I would love to have
Is one that brings me smiles and bliss
Where there are people that I love
I live today, the life I’ll miss

So live your life as best you can
For this is it, as fate has told
Enjoy each moment if you can
For all too soon we’ll be too old

No regrets is what I want
Someone to love me for just me
A place that I can call as home
Now that is life as it should be

As you get older my friend the what if's do not matter anymore, it's what you have achieved in life, yet it's good to know your mistakes and contemplate where you would be if you took the chances God gives us in our lives, I can almost hear you sigh, be well my friend and be thankful in your life as it is. Great piece of writing, you made me think back with nostalga.

People often tell me to be good because God is watching and listening. Then they say that God knows what I am going to do.
Both of these things cannot be true: they are mutually exclusive.
Because if God knows what I am going to do, it means there is something I am going to do. Thus predestination.Whether I do good or bad has already been decided.
further if God does not know what I am going to do, he is not all powerful.
I cannot resolve this delema. That's what your poem brings to my mind. Good Work1

If I make it through the day without some catastrophe, I'm grateful. I guess I'm easy to please. Enjoyed this, Rick.

Peaceful, insightful ponderings here, dear Rick.
Even though we can't go back and change things, every now and then we do think of possible alternative lives we could have lived, but while wondering about this, we discover that what we have and what we are is what we choose to have and to be.

It might be never too late to change a few things, but we can but start in the now.

To live life to the fullest is possible and the main ingredient for a blooming life, is LOVE.

Very beautiful write, dear Rick.

Love,
margherita
