That Old Moon

The moon has a face like the clock on my wall
It faces the earth looking down on us all
Looking over the ships tied up on the quay
And squirrals and birds asleep in a tree
It looks down on all creatures large or small
The barking dog who lives next door
The cat who chases the dirty old rat
And last but not least, it looks after old me.

Yo Johan,

That moon sure gets around.  He looks after me here in Philly too.  He always has, since I'm some kind of night creature.

Your poem works very well for me.

Hah!  AND, my friend, keeps me awake.  I am one of those fools who believes that sleep can not come with a full moon, beautiful as it is!

Great write

Words can create a paper moon or reveal
the moon for us to wonder, seems here
the moon looks with peace and hopes
we will pause to let the words light in
and let it's music be a welcome song,

much enjoyed the song and music,

I love moon poems!

and this one reminds me of the ones,
I used to read as a child,
full of wonder and enchantment!
