A Wrap of Fish and Chips: An English Dish

Tall waves, black with shaving foam
Scrape across the cliffs of night
An arc of blinding candle watt
That blinds the dark with fright

Jack Frost glaze upon the glass
Of the obalisk with a bright red waist
Sends salty ozone daylight
With a booming voice, make haste

To the wildly gyroscoping ship
With heaving nets, an eyedrop of fish
That land in tangled mess upon the deck
A draught of oil make a delicious dish

Tantalising oily fingered chips
Whilst reading the wrapping paper
Fishermen, tall dark waves and storms
To the plate, a decidedly dangerous caper.

Yo Johan,

This is a very food-centric poem.  I like that.

Well, that draught of oil hit my nose and the overall impression of this vivid write, was that we should pay more attention to the health of the sea, so that we may continue to enjoy sea-food.

Very thought provoking to me. Powerful poem!

Ah, a familiar treat here, I must say I miss my fish and chips, they are no good at making them in Norway Andrew.  So I do it myself, but there's nothing like sitting on the side of the pier with a newspaper full of fish and chips made the right way.  With plenty of salt and vinegar of course and HP sause for me if you please   Lovely, right up my lane at lunch time.
