where the wild flowers grow

I am a passionate example,
so much so that I weave a delicate thread
but it is not ever easy to mend such things.
Scars are there to teach us not to fall
in the same place again, we do it anyway as if
we loved the lesson and needed it to remind.
And when we are pooled with exhaustion we still
continue to climb, fingernails bloodied and knuckles
bruised. I want to be that confusion, and drink of
your forgotten.

The wind bellows again, and nocturnal are the trees,
talking music and of poetry. I listen to the night
drawing down the stars and letting them know
that I can hold, but never be held. I must always
run away, be gone and sleep where I can sleep
there will always be a made bed for me, somewhere,
somehow.. but I
am scared of the reality, petrified of the silence.
And I've been wasting all of my precious time
crying in the sand, trying to be free of the wrong
places and the dishonest faces and all I can think of
is you when it hurts the worst.

When I get home, I will know
I will know by the scents, the sounds and I will know
by the food rotting in the cupboards, I will hold tight to my bedsheets and weep, I complicated it all
the neat things, the cleansing breath and the warmth of your chest. I said what I meant, the
tickle of your sighs on my neck. Or how I can be forgiven for the words spoken in the never.

The birds are mute, the signs are askew, and
if not now, when?

A deep breath of real
and sublime soul in voice,
made me pause with wonder,

We are all so damn human.

I was held in the grasp of your letting.

Pristine and powerful as always.

Such a powerful, human, vulnerable piece of art here K. It's been awhile.

This deserves another spot at the top.  It's intense, well written and I love it.  So, poof - back you go, m'dear.
