I suffered a million deaths
In a series of fits and starts
Reborn anew each time,
A sum of random parts

Embraced, I now confess
Every variance in minute detail,
And each one a heavy stone
In the walls of my own jail

No comfort found in knowledge,
Wisdom offers only contempt
For I cannot recall
Whence from these deaths I was exempt

Paid a price with each rebirth
Of myself too much exacted
Lost even traces of reminders
As the rules are enacted

Want to talk to my former self
The prototype incarnation
Perhaps blend the best of all parts
If given to that inclination

Or simply remember once again
As I sit in silent awe
How even the best parts of me
Became my fatal flaws

Maddening, how change can be,
How much in constancy we depend
And how fruitless are our labors,
Chasing nothing in the end

wow!

Or simply remember once again
As I sit in silent awe
How even the best parts of me
Became my fatal flaws

in such complete understanding of this....

I never let one moment define me,
I define myself by all moments and how they teach and touch me......02

I agree...Wow!  Tremendous introspection.  My heart quails at the human frailties

which would most likely break us if spirit didn't move us to challenge them.

You have power in pen!  Loved this one!

This is just excellent, excellent poetry. Smooth flowing metre and unforced rhymes all encapsulating deep introspection. Bravo!
