A Somber Goodbye
By Paul Wilson

Lost are the words
that so smoothly use to flow
Stroke of key would often
take me over the rainbow

Beyond the highest clouds
below the lowest low
I found peace within my soul
seems like so many years ago

We fought villains and demons
side by side you and I
Sometimes words would make me laugh
sometimes they would make me cry

I was able to glimpse into the future
thru the words you shared with me
The future has faded away
gone forever I no longer see

I’d journey back to what use to be
but no longer can I find the way
My mind is wanting… hungry
for one more poem one more day

I hear a voice calling me
don’t go…please stay
Time has come life has passed me by
this old heart has nothing more to say

Perhaps another place and time
we will meet again
Brought together by poetry
but now we say goodbye my friend

~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~
Paul

Dear Paul, you write so beautifully, see?! But no good-bye, no please. We love you and your poems.

Just sit and listen ... and write. Memories will inspire you, but also moments of the now. Don't doubt. Open the door to the muse ...

Love,
Margherita

Paul - my friend, please don't go anywhere. Your poems are great and you do have a whole lot to say. Keep writing, as the words will come...

Paul, you will always be able to find the words! ~ Ya see! ~  You just found the words to say that you can't find the words!

Paul, you are a poet through and through. There is no doubt of that! It does appear, however, that you are experiencing a bit of a down-time emotionally, and for that I am giving you a warm, loving, compassionate hug.

Love,
Linda

Margherita...My dear lady I am trying and trying but most all the time it seems hopeless, so I do as you say I sit and think about the memories and try too make new visions from my thoughts but nothing happens. I will always at least be here to read the beautiful poems of each of you...Paul

Linda...You are just a smarty pants, telling me I found the words to write this poem LOL. It's been so long since I've really been able to write my heart, sometime I feel like I said " This old heart has nothing more to say" then sweet caring people like you come along and pick me up out of my sorrow and give me another spark of life to cling onto. I really appreciate everything each of you do...Paul

Paul...I have not much to write about as I try to relax this summer for the first time in years~~ so..........

I go into Balladeer's workshop and  try to do a challenge every now and then, picking some topic either from another poet's title or a line or something I read somewhere and take it from there.

Try it

hugs
M

Maureen...Thanks I did that a few years back when Vicky was posting a picture and asking us to write a poem on what it meant to us. It really worked and got the old fires burning. I really appreciate your advice...Paul
