Cobwebs
in the sound hole
Dust and rust
on the strings

Notebooks
that have never
been written in

Pencils that have
never been sharpened

Capless
ink pens,
long idle,
now dry

I do like this new typewriter
that came with the computer

It never runs out of ink.

I, however, did run out
of things to say and sing

but...

...I think...

...Pepe Lopez
has some wonderful tales
hidden 'neath his sombrero

Perhaps...
...if I lay my head
upon his shoulder...
...he will whisper them to me

Shows how naive I am, I had to look up Pepe Lopez to find out  it's a Tequila.

I just work on balladeer's challenges when I can't think of anything to write..it's a lot safer although harder than what helps you out.

Well, I didn't know about Pepe Lopez either but that didn't deter me from enjoying this very fine write. A shot and bitters for you, poet!

Guess I'm a bit naive too. Not aquainted with Pepe Lopez but know that I like this poem.

Yo XOx Uriah xOX,

This reminds me of my good friends in Mexico that I haven't spoken to in a while.  I'll call them, theanks for the reminder.
