Overlook

Then stones, wrung for their oil, became a picture etched in my mind
Walls built, hand by hand, segregating one field from the other
This feeling of timelessness lingers, shadowed in the half past of afternoon sun
Pasture, or cropland, both flower now; and I wonder why this matters anymore
Peered ‘Neath the brim of my straw hat, the path is dubious
Still, does the stone know it has spirit, or is the strength of sledge merely a question sharp?
From below, the canyon sends up secrets of whispering jonquil
Scanning the horizon, I measure the distance to the ground

A fine write, imagery that takes the reader right to the stones and the plants in the canyon.

Outstanding write, with beautiful hints to what I believe to be true... consciousness in all there exists, stones comprised.

Wonderful!

Love,
