Teardrops of Mist

The sky is dark and stars are bright
A mist caresses the earth
The moon has risen from its cradle
Where it did rest, in darkness of infant birth
A gentle wind that's free
Disturbs the trees, the air we breath
Rides with the tides, the seas
The movement of the cotton clouds
And fills the sails of sailing ships
That sail the seven seas
Then drifts the mist in tendrils
Clothes the trees with teardrop dew
Then falls in silver streams, then a gentle mist
Into the coal black skies
And fades the moon and brightest stars
Into a darkened gloom
Distant light, to tear dropped opaque eyes.
