Ethnographic Haiku's are the three senses in seven stanzas

7 Levels of a Gold Mine

a hole in the ground
see the Ward Leonard man cage
drown in its darkness

circle of blue sky
disappearing as a dot
fading away, gone

fall as though flying
hanging on a thinning thread
hear walls rush past you

damp sweat of terror
holding the sides of the steel
living rock, silence

water damns dripping
a torrent cascades all around
falling in the dark

six levels pass by
slowing, the black gloom of stone
eyes slowly focus

stop, seventh level
feeling, looking, taste the air
a mile below earth.

This is impressive. With every further level I felt like screaming stop stop ... so deep within the Earth, I always wonder how miners can resist.

This is an incredible set of haiku. Very well done.

Love,

Okay, now that you've very adroitly and adeptly taken me all the way down , could you now please bring me back up to that "circle of blue sky" again! Pretty please!

Hmm, on second thought. It IS a gold mine! Perhaps I'll stay down there a bit longer and see what I can dig up!

Hi, Johan! Welcome aboard the pip ship!

Giving you a warm, welcoming hug,

Geez Louise and Mother Mary, Johan...this is wonderful writing, indeed.  ARtistic and great form.  Dang good writing to be sure!
