           nightfall

A sharp-crescent moon
slices silently through
an elegant deep blue
  twilight sky
of star-tipped galactic
  immensity,
as it cloaks these ancient
  forest hills
in most profound serenity...
and sublime impermanence.

Bruce,

This is beautiful.  You know, I was "outside" in Utah a few summers ago and was amazed that people actually see stars in the summer.  It is a concept that is pretty novel to me.  Your poem reminded me of that.  It's nice to see them when it is warm.

hello Bruce, I missed this one until now, the poem conveys something we don't look enough, a feeling of eternity and as you say some permanence, this poem has the subtlety of lace...Thanks for the enjoyable read.
