day-o dawn,  ol red round easterly
breast of gypsy harlot sky
there at the lips of black beard trees
and the ways I know your eucalyptus perfume

like the eye burn of your sweaty wet
that you wring from my brow
when you are just another laughing woman
in high hem neon and your noon bootery

or that jaunty eve of horizon sighed
making the hounds pant to moon
til they lather their furlong glisten
like the leather man's tattooed eternity

day-o evening, ol red round westerly
lovely as the lonely bosom of mistress night
there with the black beard trees behind
to cover your sin usual with their salt speak

and you are on the dawn side of a moaning sky
