Blamed

Your cat waits there on the window sill,
twitching his tail in the afternoon sun.

When I enter the room, he shows only indifference.
He knows I’m not you,
knows it will never be you again.

He just lies there accusing me,
hating me, wishing me dead.

With my head low,
I slowly walk out,
sit at the table alone
and stir my food.

Yoin

Sad. Cats have their preferences, and show their feelings readily. Hang in there, it will take time for her to train her new pet.

Oh, no, Tim, he doesn't wish you dead, rest assured. If you show him your love, he will adjust to the new situation. Talk to him, soothe him over the pain of not seeing "her" anymore.

Your sadness is strongly felt and this poem is moving.  But you are together you and the cat. Neither of you should feel lonely, you can comfort each other and heal.

Greetings from me and Zelda.

Yoinn, to carry on is no less
a struggle to all those who loved,
very moving,

One of the many skills you show here to us, is your ability as an artist, to paint not only the emotion but the setting and the characters of any given piece you post.

To be able to tap into the sentience of your reader is quite a feat. The trailing indifference of the cat speaks to adjusting as we must in new circumstances.  I am captivated by your talent with the crafting of your poetry.  Very well done.

Yoinn my friend, if you give puss a tasty morsel to eat on a regular basis he will

soon be your best buddy. The quickest way to most animal's heart is through its mouth.
Good feeding good friends. Take care.

Cats are weird, most of the time.

I love my dog, and my truck. It's that simple, really.
