Note: "Day is done, gone the sun" the last line of the words to "Taps."

extremely beautiful...A very enjoyable read .
The choice of the photo and its harmony with the text are persuasive and deliver a convincing and powerful message...Time, war, death, all this is great...thanks for the poem...

Very nicely presented. A fitting tribute to those who fell.

I hear your beautiful words to the lamenting tunes of "Taps".  I am not aware of a poet living today who is able to portray pain and loss in poesy with so much compassion and feeling as you do Old Poet. It's such an honour to read your mesmerizing poesy here.

Both of my in-laws are in section #69. This was beautiful.

Thanks Katriona and all who left such kind comments. By the way, the photo is not of Arlington but of Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego.

Ouch! Katriona, you never say Semper Fi to a Naval Officer!

Please forgive my overtramp John !
Obviously, I wasn't aware this expression is against naval and/or general officer etiquette. So sorry.

No offense Katriona. I was just teasing you. Navy and Marine types are friendly rivals.
