An invisible veil of fine lace
covers her meditating face.
Warm amber sun shines on an uplifted chin,
though somber deepening shadows set the pace
as another day of anticipation begins.
The streets below may not yet be safe.

She listens with rapt attention
to boisterous birds vocalizing
daybreak breakfast chants,
ignoring silly human’s screeching rants
about nothing...absolutely nothing at all
that would impact the warp of time.

Dark reflections of the heartache kind
chill the moment, freeze the mind.
She needs more time to plant seeds of change,
nurture love and  harmony.
But her mind accepts darker shadows
shall likely cover the land.

Her prayer is that Gaia herself
does not fall into total chaos,
into some hole of eternal darkness
because humans fail to learn
the art of love as well
as they learn the art of war.

powerfully effective 'write'!

I am especially fond of the ending:

"Her prayer is that Gaia herself
does not fall into total chaos,
into some hole of eternal darkness
because humans fail to learn
the art of love as well
as they learn the art of war."

sustained applause for this timely 'penning'! !

I just knew I shouldn't have logged in here this morning before going to work....  Now I'm going to be late, and it's because of you dear Midnitesun and my old friend Old Poet.  This is just so moving and exquisitely expressed I have no words.  And the last stanza has just done it for me.  Dang, now I'll have to go and put my mascara on all over again:-)

words of generosity, and a powerful painting of thoughts...Words are graceful and efficient and for sure that is the purpose of poetry...Thanks midnitsun and thanks too for changing the print of letters (I was not comfortable with the ancient ones)..

Your paintings are as beautiful as your heart, Kacy.  I am still seeing every brushstroke of this (Vincent, take lessons!) - it is like a French art movie, especially with the amber light.  I am so proud and grateful to be your friend.

Di, you've made me blush with that reply.
To be compared with Vincent in any way
is an unbelievable honor.
THANK YOU!

Wow
I am at a loss for words
for a piece that not only
reflects an understanding
of events but shows insight
into the human mindset.
You paint a universal setting
onto an intimate canvas, and
that's what touches us so
deeply

Elizabeth, that reply...coming from one of Passions best, brought a tear of thanks.
For me, the 'sisterhood' is worldwide, and their hearts beat loud and clear for global changes.

Alison, my dear, you make me feel 'warm' just reading your replies. I am glad you read this particular write. Thanks, and hugs to you.

Jo, thank you for that kind comment. Sometimes these writes come to me at 5 AM, but don't hit the keyboard until after a cup of coffee.
This one began with an early AM meditation just before the sun began to soften the dark shadows in the room. It was a 'me' oriented poem until it hit the keyboard, at which time I 'felt and saw' a 'sister spirit' across the seas in her morning meditation.
To the universe, we are one and the same spirit, pleading the same cause...peace for humanity and Gaia, our mother Earth.

You always keep present the whole picture, while focussing on a significant detail.

These are the words of an evolved mind, of an awakened spirit, of a brave and courageous woman. The colors of your soul blend beautifully with those of your veiled sister. Together you are planting those seeds of harmony.

Excellent.

Love,
Margherita

Margherita, that is one of the warmest kindest replies anyone can ever receive.
Thank you, for reading my heartbeat, and for being the highly spiritual, evolved woman you are.
