You know, it can be so easy to dismiss a short poem like this. A quick read and then off to another. But even though this poem speaks softly, it speaks with a pathos that is uncommon among today's would-be poets. Way too often a person feeling some degree of despair will over-write his/her feelings and then deliver a very bad over-long poem to some forum. This is just not the case with this poignant verse. Short, tart, and full of impact - it's a winner! |
