Thank you, Sue.  I'll know on Sunday (when I take him back to the vet) how he's doing.  I have three cats and three dogs.  They keep me busy.

He's a pretty sick kitty, SEA.  He has a bad UTI and has been on pills for almost two weeks - after having a shot a few weeks ago.  He's coming along though and seems to understand that I am not trying to be mean to him when I shove pills down his throat twice a day.

He's pretty understanding - for a cat.

Well, we will hope.  I don't know if I mentioned my four legged troup.  My pride and joy is an eighteen year-old Blue Heeler.  We have a beautiful dog park here that the city has graciously maintained and she and my pom help me traverse a mile of it most days.  I will be crushed when she decides to leave.

Wishing Rowdy to heal quickly! For eight years my Zelda has never thrown up and I wondered, now suddenly she too has begun ... and of course where would she do it? On the chinese silk carpet ...

Your situation reminds me of what I went through with Mizar (now in heaven) when he was ill. It moved me to tears though, because every morning when meeting him in the corridor I would ask him "have you been well?" and from the way he answered I knew exactly what I would have found in his bathroom ... a normal situation or a disaster. I have not forgotten his meows with which he told me "everything's ok" or "I am sorry there is a disaster". I had to comfort him, for he felt guilty ...
I still love him to pieces and he comes to me in dreams.

Thank you for sharing this with us and allowing me to remember.

Zelda sends hugs to the gang ...
Love,
Margherita

Prayers and gentle kisses and huggles and cuddles and strokes and whispers for Rowdy - and if there are any left over after Rowdy has had his share, also for Boodha and Kaz and Stuart and Abby-xyz and Gromet.  Tell Rowdy he is on my prayer database.

If I could, I would come and wipe it all up for you to give you a break.

What is a UTI?

Poor little darling, Rowdy.  Nausea and throwing up make one feel awful.  I hope he is feeling better very soon, poor little sweetheart.

Thank you, everyone, for caring.  Rowdy is much better and is not throwing up any longer (thank God) - except on Stranger's Harley, in his cigar box and in my purse.  We are so lucky!

Diana, a UTI is a Urinary Tract Infection.  Rowdy's quite the stoic so I had no idea he was sick until it was pretty advanced.  We felt terrible together (for different reasons).

He is coming along and goes back to the doctor on Sunday.  Which means he sits on my lap in the car (or beside me) and talks all the way to town.

Love you all and thank you.

Oh, Rowdy, my darling, kitty-cat friend, I am SO glad you are feeling so much better.  Yes, good thing to do to the Harley thing, after what the Stranger man said to you, my angel kitty!  Mommy loves you and is giving you those awful tablets to make you better, Sweetheart, but you know that - and that she loves you LOTS AND LOTS!

Lots of love from Tigger (a tabby), Daisy (a cat-loving Maltese poodle) and Auntie Di, one of the many, many peeples who loves you lots and lots too!

Thank you for the explanation, Alison.  Please tell Rowdy (again) that I can't wait to hear that he is COMPLETELY better and feeling fine, the precious darling.  I don't suppose he will enjoy the visit to the vet, but he is such a clever kitty that he will know it is to make him better.

Z,
I'm glad Rowdy is doing better. Hopefully we find out that he'll make a full recovery.

Rowdy,
Be nice to Z, and quit throwing up in her purse. She loves you. Oh, and if Stranger tries to do bad things to Z (not that he would, but if) then sick 'im! Good luck, kitty.

Rowdy update:  He's not that improved.  After a month, he is still on pills and now liquid pain/antibotic medicine.  Hopefully, we'll see significant improvement after this two week stint.  So poor Rowdy.

Alison update:  I just cancelled my fly-in trip up to the mountains for a week.  So poor Alison.

Life goes on.  Thanks for all the comments on this little poem and the support for my very special, Rowdy.

Oh, dear!  Our poor darling Rowdy.  I will keep up my powerpunch prayers for him (did you get my email?) and hopefully he will recover soon on the new medicine.

Thank you for canceling your trip, Alison because Rowdy needs you.  Hopefully you can have that later, when he is all better.

Yes, it's hard. He's fully recovered.  The vet gave him a clean bill of health about two weeks ago.  Now, he's playing and being Rowdy again.  I missed him when he was sick.  He was here but just not himself.

Thank you, Ruth, for caring.  You understand.

(does happy dance) Awwwwwwwwww, I'm sooooooooooo happy to hear your Rowdy has recovered fully, dearest friend! Reading the former part of this thread scared me deeply, as it aches my heart every time I hear a precious living thing is under the weather, as I have this heartaching memory of one of my first two kittens, Holly, dying after catching a fever, and I'm reminded of Holly whenever I hear of another pet struggling! (huggies)

Here's to a rowdier Rowdy than ever, bark bark bark, yippee!

Dear Alison, you are a very kind hearted person and I know through experience that sometimes our pets cause us a lot extra work and worry, but the amount of pleasure we get from having and loving them far outweighs any problems that we may have to endure. We have a cat and a dog and we both love them to death. A very touching poem.
loved it and you.

You have a kind and gentle heart.  It's one of the first things that I noticed about you.  Rowdy and I thank you - he is much recovered and is happier than he has ever been.  He's leader of the pack.

Diana,

Rowdy is recovered and sweet as can be.  He even sits on my lap now and then (he never did that in the past).  He's quiet but rules with a steady and fair paw.

Dear Lindsay,

What our pets give us is so much more than we can give them back.  I believe that I have a lifetime responsibility for every animal that I let into my life.  They are the best part of me.

Oh, the precious beautiful sweetie-pie Rowdy!  I am so happy that he has recovered completely and that he has taken to sitting on your lap.  He really knows and understood how you were there for him and with him every step of the way in empathetic love while he was so sick.  I laughed happily at the idea of him ruling with a steady and fair paw!  Please give him lots of huggles and kisses and cuddles from his Auntie Di in sunny South Africa and happy celebratory meeows and woofs from Tigger and Daisy.
