Your magic irides, aquamarines,
your cheeks that flaunt vanilla orchid tones,
your licorice-braids, your unctuous mangosteens
that throb incanting tamed exotic moans:
“naja haje.” I yearn to chart your chapel
with my tongue in flippant arabesques;
mezzo-soprano gasps and tastes of apple
will awake long-banished picaresques
encaged in the dark hollows of my soul:
a symphony of id, a clarinet,
will rise to blow and yield, caress, cajole,
and taste the umbra dewed with anisette:
do not pronounce those motions “Lilliputian“,
they’re the mechanics of our evolution.

A lot of echos of history in this.  Powerful write.  Just a little Note:  Humbling to those of us little people.

Yes! A read that required some deeper attention, but well worth it, dear Marc-André.
Imagine if we only used the rational part of our mind, what we would lose. Your poem is a product of psychic energy and rational mind and it is wonderfully stirring.

Also found pictures of mangosteen, which I did not know ... how beautiful!

Love,
Margherita

Clang, thanks for reading. I wrote this poem mainly for the texture of the words themselves, their sounds, origin, connotations etc. Not too sure how to take your comment: do you mean I shouldn't post those here?

Margherita, I'm glad to know that you've found the poem worthy. The texture of the mangosteen flesh makes me think of lips, and vice-versa. They're a delicious fruit.
