In the soft grey twilight
Of a midsummer wood
I paused, for just in front of me
A lovely presence stood

She played upon a crystal flute
No human girl was she
For all around her blossoms fell
Like snow flakes from a tree

With rosy tinted web like wings
And dress of golden hue
She was the very spirit of
That magical woodland view

As delicate as a rose bud
And every bit as fair
The music of her magic flute
Bewitched the evening air

And all the little fairies
Danced on the forest floor
Looking twice as beautiful
As they had seemed before

Did I really see her
Was she reallly there
The beguiling fairy maiden
With bluebells in her hair ?

In the soft grey twilight
Was it really so
Or did I just imagine her
Alas, I'll never know.....

Dear H2H, if you press the edit icon (notepad with pencil) on the top of your post with the picture it will open again and you simply add the text and press submit now. Oh, if you want to cancel the picture you cancel the text in between [img][/img] and put in the new link to the new picture ...  I hope I am not messing up things

Oh, here you are with this perfect presentation.

How absolutely delightful, dear H2H! I love the fairy world and there are many poets here who will adore this, just like your grandson did no doubt!

The perfect read before going to sleep, believing in magic makes everything brighter!

Love,
Margherita

Oh I'm so pleased you liked this Margherita !  My grandson (he's 4) is absolutely enthralled with fairytales and nursery rhymes, so I write a lot of childrens' prose and poems too.  My youngest grandson is coming up for a year now, and I've noticed he listens carefully when I read to him, the wee soul that he is, so that makes me very happy.
Huggs to you dear friend and thanks for reading and leaving such a nice comment.

Love faeries. Hence the name faeriemythc.  Loved your poem, I bet your grandson loves it too. What a beautiful vision to fall asleep to and perhaps dream about.

This reads like a fairy tale, which(to me) is so hard to do in verse.
Very much appreciated by this guy.

I would hope that when he is old enough to grasp the words, Katriona, that you sit Andrew in your lap and read this gem to him.

Read it once again now and love it even more. I would read it to my 5 year old grandson, but he has not yet learned English, he speaks French (my daughter lives in Belgium).
Love,
Margherita
