I saw your face in the sunset
Filling me with awe at the beauty
So elemental, carefree and wild
Such the fantasy in my reality

I saw you rise up from the waves
A jewel washed from the sea
Unattainable, a fairy tale
And I, lost in your story

I saw you in black with eyes so sad
Wondered at what it could be
To make it all seem possible
To be the reality in your fantasy

This portrait is really beautiful.
Jerry, you always view your subject with poetic eyes, then paint with gentle tenderness and passion.

~hey, jerry...

this...is really nice...

you arranged the poem very well and i love the mirroring of the first and last lines

I saw you rise up from the waves
A jewel washed from the sea
Unattainable, a fairy tale
And I, lost in your story

~and this is wonderful...

"To be the reality in your fantasy"---I vividly recall this feeling, this longing.

This clinches it...you are now one to watch.  I may stalk your poetry all over these boards. :-)

this reminds me of summer storms at the beach, and what one finds after the sea/s have settled....there/s a mystery in this too....
