I did this one for fun.  It was for a friends daughter after her wedding.

The Bride Wore Flip-flops

The ring bearer was a joy
The bride and grooms own son
When he flashed his winning smile
Every guests' heart was won
The flower girl walked down the aisle
She only got halfway
She shook her head, her lip stuck out
The she ran away
The mothers were the next in line
With tears in their eyes
Memories of their young ones
Of years passing by
As the procession went on
The bride came into view
she had flip-flops on her feet
They were her wedding shoes
The tears were shining in her eyes
A beautiful vision in white
Glowing and radiant
She was a lovely sight
She met her groom atop the stairs
Her heart was beating fast
She said her vows and kissed the groom
This love was meant to last

Yo dear Faeriemythc,

Hey, I was there for that.  My oldest granddaughter was at her parents wedding.  I held her in my lap.

It was a lovely affair.

Love Bobby

faerimythic,

This is charming.  I love the image of the flower girl.  My best friend is getting married and she  won't let me be flower girl!  I am seriously bummed.  But, I do get to be Maid of Honor.  But ... flower girl ... I love flowers.

Love this poem too.

At least she didn't flip-flop over the vows! Enjoyed this.
