Twenty years have come and gone your last glance still remains,
a tattered memory of your face from tears I must refrain.
To have loved so long and hard and deep with naught at it’s end,
I count the days without you dear with a love nowhere to send.
From city scape to country side my eyes seek out your form,
your scent your voice your silken skin leave me but forlorn.
What chance to meet or see your face once again before I die,
I pray to gods and wizards grand but always end it  with a sigh.
Why give me heart and take the only prize that won it over,
why give it in immaturity and not when it was older.
My woe was ended on a Saturday morn as I read the papers,
your name and death were side by side angels now your neighbours.
My loves lost pain is at an end and I march towards tomorrow,
partnered with my new best friend deepest darkest sorrow.

Sonofgloin, my heart goes out to you my friend for your tragic loss. You have

written a sad but beautiful tribute to a
a wonderful lady, and to still think the

way you do after twenty years shows what she must have meant to you. A great poem.

I am sorry for your loss x 2. It is quite apparent by your moving words, that you loved her deeply. Now that she is in spirit, she may find you again.

Giving you a warm, compassionate hug,

Love & Everlasting Light,
Earth Angel

A melancholic write, very intensely rendered.

I was nearly in tears at reading this beautiful rendering. Thank you for sharing your soul with us. She must have been SOME woman to evoke that much intensity.

Once again thanks to all you folks. I do not think that I will be going down such a personal themed track again, hurts too much, I will stick to the mundane from now on.....Paul.

My woe was ended on a Saturday morn as I read the papers,
your name and death were side by side angels now your neighbours.
My loves lost pain is at an end and I march towards tomorrow,
partnered with my new best friend deepest darkest sorrow.

An emotional, melancholy poem, but very beautiful in it's loneliness.
A heavy heart is hard to shake, and no one likes to lose at love.

... you've conveyed the feeling well.
