Doors open
turn to left
table ready
spoons and forks
in plastic sleeve
tattered rose
dollar vase
a hungry harvest
white and black
and shades between
some with canes
some with carriage
the faithful and
the godless

chatter/clatter
ham set
on centerstage
colored rice/mix of greens
a prayer recites
the servers start

they come
to mingle

they come
to sit

but first they come
to fill the need

Goddess, this played out before me like daguerreotypes in reel.

It would not surprise me, dear Michele, if you volunteered in such a place where those in need can find a meal.

And you have captured the scenery so very well. When the basic need for food is satisfied, they certainly will also enjoy the warmth of company and the possibility to chat and share their experiences.

Very incisive write. Thank you for this.
Love,
Margherita
